I believe that you give them much credit Captain ... when you consider them as knowing, but hiding the truth. Maybe Pasko Kuzman (btw watch this ) and a few others know the truth ... but the rest of their nation is sleeping in «νήδυμος ὕπνος» ("unshakeable sleep").

I may be become boring, again my theory about post(???)communist countries. There is no science, just order of some Central Committee.
Maybe joke from some older times: Do you know that there are even two TV channels in SSSR ? First one is info channel from Central Committee of communist party, and on second is policeman with nightstick threatening asking: "What, you dont want to watch first channel !!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!"
(I remember when we had only one TV channel and every evening news started with sentence: "Today, President Tito....").

It's not ignorance,Doc,it's not ignorance...They surely know the truth yet they insist to falsificate ancient quotes as if this would make them direct descendands of Alexander the Great.
